We have created a program for Smartphone devices to transmit Lat/Long for tracking. Then I could view the track on google map live.

I just got my SPOT Personal Tracker and signed up with their service and I am very disappointed.  Got my account established but now in order to have my friends or family see my track, I have to give out my userid and password. That means they can add edit and modify my account by accident. I don't believe they have not thought of this. The only reason I got this unit is to have others see my progress.

I have written software for my Smartphone that works great with Google map during my flight. My friends and family can see my progress. The track is being posted every 3 minutes rather than 10 minutes by SPOT. The reason I tried SPOT was coverage and usage time.
